Rise of Agon Hosted A Battle Royal Event
The battle royal craze has infected a lot of games, as it seems now that every game can get this mode if the developers decide that they want to ride this hype train as everyone else is doing it. Rise of Agon, a sandbox MMORPG with a lot of interesting features (like naval warfare), hosted its very own battle royal event for players to participate in. Does it work well with an MMORPG as it does with shooters?
From the looks of it, there isn’t a single game developer out there that isn’t interested in the battle royal genre, and rightfully so, as it’s proving to be the next big thing in gaming. But, trends like this happened before with genres like open-world survival games with zombies, and that also died out after a while. When will the battle royal enthusiasm calm down? Not anytime soon it seems, as now even MMORPGs get these events where players go without any items and try to kill each other to see who will be the last man standing. The event happened yesterday, and it was actually quite organized with a lot of rules to keep everything fair and square.
Are you a Rise of Agon player? If not, it’s an MMORPG of the older kind, something akin to World of Warcraft, but with a bit of a roguelike feel to it, player-driven economy, naval warfare, and skill-based combat, which is not seen a lot in old-school MMORPGs like this one.
