As the first month of 2019 nears its conclusion, data about the last month of 2018 is finally coming forth. Many have been curious as to what games came out on top by the end of the year, and now, for the US at least, we know the answer. After a long and hard battle, Red Dead Redemption 2 came out as the best-selling game of 2018 in the US. A great honor, and one that is even more impressive than the NPD says.
You see, the NPD only tracks the sales in the United States, and we know that Red Dead Redemption 2 has done well overseas, especially in Europe, so it’s done even greater than the US numbers alone. Below are the top 20 best-selling titles. As a note, the Nintendo games don’t factor in their digital sales. And both Battlefield V and Call of Duty: WWII doesn’t include PC Digital sales.

It shouldn’t be too much of a surprise that Call of Duty Black Ops 4 is No.2 on the list, it and Red Dead Redemption were duking it out for the top spot since their launch in October. Super Smash Bros Ultimate had an impressive showing despite only being out for a month in the United States, and games like Super Mario Party and Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu did well as well. A stellar year for Nintendo Switch games.
