Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege will be getting an update today to implement the previously announced loot boxes to be coming to the tactical shooter.
Today sees the rolling out of the 2.1.1. patch which introduces “Alpha Packs”, which will be filled with cosmetic and legendary items. You’ll have to prepare yourself for the long haul, however. To get your hands on one of these luck-based items, you’re looking at putting in over 4000 hours into the game to come across one.
The update will be released in a staggered fashion on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Once the update arrives, players will be granted one free box, with more to be unlocked by simply playing the game without microtransactions.
Ubisoft stated: “Alpha Packs are designed as a way to give you free cosmetics, just for playing the game! Arriving in a staggered release, Alpha Packs will introduce a chance-based loot system that will contain many past cosmetics (like the Black Ice skins), as well as exclusive Legendary tier items that you will only be able to get in Alpha Packs.”
Keep an eye out for the update coming to Rainbow Six Siege, which brings new items for just playing the game, so make the most of it and get your hands on some epic loot.
