Rainbow Six Siege Has Hit 25 Million Users, Releases White Noise Expansion
It’s always good to talk about the success a game is having, as sometimes it’s not praised enough. That especially goes for games that have been going on for a long time, like, for example, Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege. The tactical shooter title has been going strong since its arrival in December of 2015. In fact, the game just celebrated its 2-year anniversary, and it’s got some big things to show for it. First off, the game has officially hit 25-million players. And second, they have just released the next expansion for the game, White Noise.
White Noise brings a lot of new things to the table, not the least of which is two new themed Operators for players to be, and a new map for players to enjoy. Like previous expansions, this one is themed with the duo of Operators being from South Korea’s 707th Special Mission Battalion. There’s Dokkaebi, who is an attack-minded Operator who can use a Logic Bomb to find out where enemies are located. Then, there’s Vigil, who’s more defense oriented, and has a gadget called the ERC-7 which can make him undetectable to cameras.
But, in a fun twist, players will be getting a third Operator here in the form of Zofia Bosak, who was meant to be for a Polish-themed expansion, but it got canceled, so she’s being bundled for free. Don’t take her lightly though, Zofia has a grenade launcher that can use explosive and concussive ammo.
As for the map, you’ll be able to scale the massive Mok Myeok Tower, which has numerous places to both attack and defend from, and verticality can be a key tactic here.
The content is available now for all Season Pass holders. But, if you don’t have it, you can get the content via individual purchases on December 12th. With the exception of the map, which is free to all on the 12th.
