Rainbow Six Siege Expands Pro League to the Pacific
This year is wonderful for the Rainbow Six Siege eSports scene. As it currently stands, the scene already had one major event which was Season 1 of Pro League that was held in Katowice, Poland. There’s two more to go and one is on-going as group stage matches are being played for the Season 2 of Pro League in Cologne, Germany.
While this is on-going, Ubisoft figured that they should make Season 3 of Pro League more competitive by adding more regions to the mix. They recently announced via a post that 4 new regions that will be able to compete at Pro League next season: Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, and Australia-New Zealand.
These regions will compete against each other over at the Eastern Pro League. The finals will be held in Sydney between October 21-22. The team that manages to win the final match gets to continue in competing in the Pro League Finals against the finalists from the European, North American, and South American regions in order to win $237,000 in prize money.
Besides trying to earn themselves a lot of money, the teams competing are also fighting to have a slot for the second Six Invitational which is set to be in Montreal on February 16-18, 2018. This tournament is also bringing a big check to the winners with the prize pool of $500,000. If we count this with the Pro League prize pools, it makes the total prize pool of Rainbow Six Siege’s tournaments $1,250,000.
