Project Cars 2 Gets First Expansion Via “Fun Pack”
Racing games are a special kind of genre in video gaming, for they usually fall into one of two types. They’re either incredibly stylized titles that pride themselves on speed and action (Mario Kart, Burnout, F-Zero, etc.) or, they’re incredibly realistic takes on racing that delve into the deepest depths of what makes the sport unique. These titles include franchises like Forza and Project Cars. In fact, with Project Cars 2, the racing genre got another boost in quality, and that doesn’t look to be stopping anytime soon.
For Bandai Namco has officially revealed the first expansion pack for Project Cars 2, it’s called the “Fun Pack”, and will feature new cars among other things. For the cars, eight new ones are going to be hitting the road and track, including some legends that have been banned after their arrival. Vehicles like Matthias Ekstrom’s Audi S1 EKS RX quattro and Petter Solberg’s Citroën DS3 RX Supercar will be there, along with Rally Car legends Ford RS200 Evolution, Renault R5 Maxi Turbo, and Audi Sport Quattro S1 are on the docket.
Wait, what about the other three cars? Well, those cars are equally as special, for these three were all driven by Formula Drift legend Vaughn Gittin Jr., you’ll get to drive his 1969 Ford Bronco, as well as his 960bhp RTR Mustang as well as the RTR prepared ’66 Mustang. He helped consult on Project Cars 2, so it’s only fair that he gets some special treatment, no?
As for the tracks, the player can feel the joy and thrill of going down the Brand Hatch Rallycross track (in retro form) and the Circuit De Barcelona-Catalunya Rallycross track. Both famous tracks in their own right.
Other things you can expect new Invitational Events and new vehicle liveries. The Fun Pack is slated to arrive in Winter, no specific release date though given.
