As we are all well aware of by now, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds recently launched on Xbox One this week, as part of the Preview program. Even though it has had a stuttering start performance wise, the statistics for sales and playerbase are very impressive at this early stage. After just a couple of days in existence on console, PUBG has attracted hundreds of thousands of players.
In fact, that figure has surpassed 496,000 players, and is closing in on a half a million at a pretty rapid rate. This figure isn’t the most accurate, considering it doesn’t take into account that it could cover alternate accounts, but still, they are number that are most certainly worth boasting about.
So the Xbox One version is off to a quick start, which is even more impressive given that it is still an unfinished product. It’s rough around the edges, with the performance not quite up to the standard of PC, though patches will soon see a number of improvements being brought in. The game isn’t even finished on PC yet, which is another point to take into consideration.
Whether you think it’s worth investing in at this early stage, or holding out until full release is entirely up to you, but despite the issues it most certainly is playable and very enjoyable even early on.
