PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Gets Small Movement Patch
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is one of the most popular games out there right now, which is saying something as it’s only on two platforms. And if we’re being technical, it’s more like one-and-a-half. Either way, the game grows at an unprecedented rate, and at times, there are over 3 million people playing it at once. But, despite all the love the game gets, fans aren’t shy about stating that the game is filled with bugs and other problems. Thus, developer Bluehole has to make a lot of adjustments.
And they have, they even spent months on Steam Early Access before launching the full version of the game on PC, and that might apply to the Xbox One version as well. Even with the PC launch, they’re still making adjustments to make the game better. For example, a small patch was released today that aims to make the game better in the optimization and movement sections.
For optimization, Bluehole has fixed an issue that gave lower performance when a bunch of player characters are in the same area. On the movement side, there were glitches going on that would make a player character suddenly stop, and then get readjusted, that’s been fixed. There was also a replay issue where player movements seemed off, that too has been fixed.
Now, these small adjustments won’t fix the core of the game’s issues, but every fix leads to a better experience. After all, the game needs movement to be fluid and not jittery, and the better optimization that players can get, the happier they’ll be.
Then again, one of the biggest problems in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds right now is that there is rampant cheating, especially from the Chinese side of things. Players want a region lock for that area, Bluehole hasn’t made decisions on it yet though.
