PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Gets Another Xbox One Update
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has launched its full version on PC via Steam. But, on console, exclusively on the Xbox One (for now), the game is still in its beginning stages. In fact, the console version doesn’t have some of the biggest additions that the PC version has at present. However, between developer Bluehole and Microsoft that’s slowly beginning to change, as the teams are working hard to bring more and more updates. The fifth update for the system in fact just went live a few hours ago.
The update was detailed on the official forums for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, and explained the many changes it was bringing, some of which were big fan asks.
Easily the biggest update was the change to the weapons system. As the game has moved the Pistol from the “Y” button over to where the melee weapons are with the “Up” button. This will (potentially) allow the player a bit more freedom.
Another big change is that there is now another option of control scheme for players. This one has a different way of aiming, which can be a big boon to some players who have been struggling with figuring out the previous control scheme.
Other things the update brings include more improvements to the online stability and gameplay. This includes “rubberbanding” fixes, as well as better performance when the game starts. There have also been numerous bug fixes, including one where players would be moved after certain actions were taken and would somehow become invincible for the remainder of the match. If you’ve played the game, you know why that’s a problem.
Many bugs that caused crashes have been fixed, and the team will continue to be on the lookout for them. The team is also aware that there are some other bugs that need to be fixed, and they state that they’re working on it now.
