The main feature that separates PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds from other games is the movement of the play area that slowly closes in on its players. Those who are found outside of the blue zone as it decreases will begin to incur damage gradually. The developers now plan to turn the heat up by increasing the damage that the blue zone deals, which will hopefully encourage players to fight inside of the play area.
This alteration will arrive in the test servers next week, with the developers stating: “From this new update, you will be able to focus more on the immediate, close-ranged skirmishes inside the play zone, instead of dealing with enemies outside of the play zone during the mid to late phases of the game. We would love to hear the responses regarding the changes from all members of our community once you’ve tried it in the test servers.”
This will hopefully bring about more pace to the game, especially if players are pushed to compete in the same area. Meanwhile, the team are also working on new vaulting and climbing mechanics, which will arrive on the test servers sometime in early November. The game should arrive before the year Is out, with it set to land on Xbox One through the preview program sometime soon.
