There is an issue within Fortnite that I have noticed even myself. Though I tend to stick to Squad, I have dabbled in and out of Solo, though a peculiar and troubling pattern seemed to emerge on a number of games. This issue revolves around players teaming up in the solo mode in order to gain an advantage, a practice which will now be punished by developer Epic Games.
A company spokesperson has spoken out on the matter stating that “teaming in Solo is against the rules and will result in Epic Games taking action on accounts that participate in that behaviour,” and going forward they will be continuing to “monitor games for players who break rules and play unfairly in all game modes.”
Meanwhile, Epic has also said that they will be taking action against those found guilty, which innocent players can help with by using the game’s online form to report those found doing. Obviously, it is going to be difficult to monitor when there are over 45 million players in Fortnite, with a peak player count of over three million players worldwide, so any help players can give will surely be appreciate by the developers.
There has been extreme examples of this in fellow battle royale game PUBG, where it has been found to have players forming up to 40-person squads. This can be done by pressing Launch at the same time as the players you wish to play with.
Fortnite is now available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
