Pillars Of Eternity II: Deadfire Coming To Consoles This Year
Don’t you just love it when a plan comes together? You see, developer Obsidian Entertainment decided to go to the crowdfunding service Fig to get their game Pillars Of Eternity II: Deadfire funded by those who wanted it. And it got funded in spades. So, naturally, players waited for the game’s arrival on PC, which will happen on April 3rd. However, if you’re a console gamer and you want to play it, well, you’re in luck, for that’s going to be happening too. And not just for the consoles you think.
For Game Informer reveals that console versions for the Xbox One, PS4, AND the Nintendo Switch are coming. What’s more, they’re coming this year. Or at the very least during the holiday season of 2018. So, how is the game getting such a quick port? Well, it’s being handled by a different team technically. The Obsidian team is focusing on the PC version of the game, while a group called Red Cerberus are handling the console ports.
Now, that doesn’t mean the ports will be bad, far from it, Obsidian wouldn’t have chosen this team if they couldn’t handle it. In fact, it’ll be because of this team that you get it sooner rather than later.
As for what Pillars Of Eternity II: Deadfire is all about, it’s the true sequel to one of the most beloved RPG titles of all time.
In the game, the god Eothas has risen, much to your chagrin, and in its fury it destroys virtually everything in sight. You survive though, and you must find a way to stop it once and for all. To do so, you must sail to the Deadfire islands and explore, fight, and learn what you need to in order to defeat this god once and for all.
If a release date is given for the console versions soon, we’ll let you know.
