Path of Exile, the free-to-play ARPG from Grinding Gear Games, is set to arrive on Xbox One next week, with a release date set for August 24th.
Path of Exile is the eighth most played game on Steam, and presents an action role-playing game in a similar fashion to Diablo III. In a recent blog post, Grinding Gears stated: “The long-awaited release of Path of Exile on Xbox One is right around the corner. We’re all set to make our console debut on August 24th at 2pm (PDT). We are very excited to welcome even more exiles to our community. As per usual, the game will be free to download and available to everyone!”
If you have yet to experience Path of Exile, and are a fan of game’s of that particular genre, then it is something that should be rectified as soon as possible. The Diablo-esque adventure allows you to pick a class and head out to obtain god-like power, whilst smashing through terrifying enemies and pick up as much loot as you can handle.
A key aspect of the game is that it is indeed free-to-play. There will be skeptics understandably when they hear that term, but this is certainly not a title that is pay to win. In fact, microtransactions are based around cosmetics only, so don’t worry about falling behind if you don’t want to stump up any extra cash.
