One of the longest running events since Overwatch’s release will be coming to a close today. The Overwatch Summer Games 2017 has captivated many players over the past few weeks, and with no time announced by Blizzard as to when it will be ending, it will be worth getting onto the game as soon as possible and picking up any cosmetics you want before it ends.
This means that the popular mode Lucio Ball will also be ending, which introduced a competitive aspect to it in this year’s event. There is a possibilty that it will be making a return for a third year in 2018, so fingers crossed if you enjoyed this particular mode. It would be great to see Blizzard bring this back once more, or for many, implement it permanently.
In fact, this is something that would be great to do in general, since they’ve done such a great job in bringing exciting modes in other seasonal events, so much so that it is a massive shame when they do come to a close. Junkenstein’s Revenge is an example of this, which offered up a horde style mode at Halloween.
This also marks the end of competitive season 5, which paves the way for season 6 to hopefully bring in a number of improvements.
