Overwatch Releases Skins Based On Overwatch League Teams
Blizzard has had a very big week, mainly because of the launch of the Overwatch League. This massive esports tournament is unlike anything the esports world has seen before, mainly because it models itself after major sports leagues with different teams representing different cities. Regardless, the first few days have been a major success for Blizzard, and to celebrate the launch of the League, they’ve put some new skins in the main game for people to collect.
The twist here is two-fold. First, the skins themselves are based on the colors of the 12 team that are in the League, and the color skins are available for every single character in the game. But, the twist that might be harmful is that you don’t get these skins through special Loot Boxes, instead, they can only be bought through League Tokens. You’ll get 100 League Tokens for free if you log into the game between now and the 13th of February. But, if you want to get more after that…you’ll have to pay money.
How much money? Well, $5 for 100 tokens. And each individual skins costs 100 tokens. Which means that if you want to get the entire set for every single character in the game, the grand total this will set you back is $1200. So, think carefully before deciding what you do, or which skin you choose to buy with your free tokens.
Also a part of this update is a great feature to actually watch the Overwatch League within the game itself. There is a new menu button that will appear when matches are live, and thus, you can just click them and go right to the matches, which we highly recommend using as the first few days of the League have been filled with great action, suspense, and surprises.
