Overwatch Map To Hit PTR “Within A Week Or Two”
Overwatch has been bringing its A-game as of late. First, they brought in their newest hero in Brigette, then, they announced the new version of the Uprising event. And now, they’re currently running the Retribution event, which is giving more story and details about what happened to the group that is now known as Blackwatch. As is the case with these events, they often have special things that can only be found within them, mainly their maps. However, for the Retribution event, that’s going to change.
Many gamers have been enjoying the new map in Venice, Italy, and have wanted it to stay in the games’ rotation. Well, on the Overwatch forums, creative director Jeff Kaplan has revealed that the map will hit the PTR as an Escort Mission in a week or two. The PTR is the “Public Test Realm”, where gamers can test things like maps, characters, and sometimes even events to ensure that they’re not bug-ridden once they go live.
Furthermore, Blizzard has officially unlocked the Overwatch Archives, these are special events featuring the best players and streamers in the Overwatch community battling it out for special prizes. Here’s the breakdown of the first event:
Cheer on your favorite streamers with their hand-picked squads as they compete against their rivals for the prize—four Retribution-themed bundles featuring a top-of-the-line MSI Gaming 27” curved gaming monitor, MSI gaming peripherals, a Genji statue, and other gear… all of which they will give away to their viewers.
Pretty cool, huh? And every week will bring forth a new challenge for gamers to battle for, and that means new prizes for you to potentially win. The first challenge has them playing as the members of Blackwatch as they try and escape a Talon facility alive and with the best score possible. So check it out, and see if you can win one of their prizes.
