As you may already know, the public test realm for Overwatch is pretty self explanatory. It is used for testing out the many heroes that are on the Blizzard shooter’s roster, and that is what is happening with the latest addition of Brigitte, who is being subjected to a nerf.
Released on the PTR on February 28th along with a dev update and origin story, Brigitte was introduced as a tank-esque support character to make her quite a mixed entry to the game, and has already proven to be quite useful on the PTR platform.
Despite this, she has been considered to be too strong by Blizzard, with the developer offering a number of nerfs to her abilities, which includes Shield Bash, Rocket Flail and Rally.
Here is an official full list of the nerfs that are taking place:
Shield Bash
- Added a small delay before her shield drops after a Shield Bash.
- Added a vertical speed cap after Shield Bash.
- Please note that we are still tuning this value.
Rocket Flail
- Canceling a melee swing renders you unable to melee again until it would have completed had it not been canceled.
Rally
- Ultimate cost increased by about 30 percent.
Inspire
- Decreased cooldown from two seconds to one-and-a-half seconds.
Out of all of these changes, perhaps the most significant is the Shield Bash. Players on the PTR have noticed that with this combination of attacks, they are able to kill Tracer in a single shot. This has inspired a delay to be introduced, which will give Tracer the chance to escape from danger.
Overwatch is now available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
