Overwatch Getting Xbox One X Enhancements
Since the arrival of the Xbox One X, there have been many titles that have been revealed to be getting “enhancements”. For you see, the console is quite literally the most powerful console ever made. Period. But it’s more than just graphics power, it’s processing, which helps games run even smoother. Blizzard has already pledged itself to the system with its game Diablo III. But now, as noted by Windows Central, another Blizzard game is getting enhanced with “The Power of X”: Overwatch.
To be fair, this isn’t much of a surprise. In fact, it makes perfect sense. Overwatch is popular on both PC and console, to the extent that there have been 35 million+ players between the PC, Xbox One, and PS4. So, with the new console, and the possibility of an even greater gameplay and graphics experience, why wouldn’t you enhance it?
Blizzard made a statement about the upcoming enhanced version:
“The team is currently exploring how the game experience can be enhanced on this platform to leverage the console’s incredible hardware, and is working on implementing 4K resolution in the game on Xbox One X.”
Now, once the game gets on the console, it’ll be up to the players themselves to determine how they think it plays, but based one early remarks from developers, it looks like the Xbox One X really is a great machine to make great games even greater.
Not to mention that this is the perfect time to try and capitalize on this. For Overwatch is not only getting ready to go into major esports play (with the World Cup recently happening at BlizzCon), but the game is also about to bring in its 27th character in Moira, and a new level in Blizzard World. So, with this renewed hype for the game, why not make the most of it?
More details on the enhancements will come later.
