Blizzard revealed last week that the popular shooter Overwatch would be free to play this weekend, and will kick of proceedings today. This free to play period will last through to November 20th, with the game’s full roster of heroes to choose from, as well as 16 maps that are available to play on, as well as access to Quick Play, Custom Games and Arcade modes.
Also, any progression that you make within your free time period will be carried over into the full game should you choose to purchase it. What’s more, the loot boxes that will be activated throughout this period will also carry over, as well as player stats also being retained. It is worth noting however, that any achievements or trophies that are in Overwatch are disabled during this time, so if you’re planning to unlock these at some point, you’ll need to purchase the full game.
This free weekend coincides with the release of Moira, the latest hero to be added to the ever-growing roster, who was announced at Blizzcon earlier this month.
Overwatch is now available on PC, Xbox One and PS4. There are also free play periods for the likes of Endless Space and Rainbow Six Siege, so be sure to keep an eye out.
