Overwatch Bringing Back Uprising Event
When Overwatch released in 2016, there was a lot of lore within the title, but, it wasn’t conveyed in the usual means. Much of it was done through cinematic videos showing off the characters, or via conversations had within the gameplay itself. Blizzard continued this trend by bringing in special events to help flesh out the world even more. One of which was the very popular event known as Uprising. Well, time to go back to the past once again, for Uprising is coming back.
This was revealed on the official Overwatch Twitter feed. It’s coming back on April 10th, and will once again take players back to King’s Row. The original event was one that focused on the full-on Omnic uprising that took place there. This was significant because it was the first official mission for Tracer. The mode also had you with a particular squad, including Mercy, Reinhardt, and Torbjorn. Whether this is the same squad you’ll be commanding in the new version of the event is unclear at present.
Also last years event, there will be a slew of new cosmetic items for you to get. All of which can be received through natural gameplay. You can likely expect a new set of skins for your characters as well.
Blizzard has been going all out with its Overwatch content this year. The Chinese New Year brought some fun and items to players. Then, we got the 27th Hero in Brigette, who is already charming players all over. And now, with the Uprising Event, things are going to continue to get good.
We expect a full-on trailer reveal for the returning mode very soon, as April 10th isn’t very far away. So stay tuned to the Twitter feed for Blizzard and Overwatch, and when it does arrive, we’ll report it!
