While this may be a mistake, someone that works at PlayStation Brazil tweeted that Overwatch 2 is launching on PS4 in 2020.
Overwatch 2, the standalone game that should be an expansion, could be on its way this year. Would Blizzard release the game this year? Why wouldn’t they, Overwatch 2 is extremely similar to Overwatch so they probably don’t need to do a lot of new things with the sequel. All that’s added is basically a PvE mode. Some PvP modes and some new characters are also on their way, but that’s nothing major.
So, what did the employee at PlayStation Brazil think when they tweeted that Overwatch 2 is coming on PS4 in 2020? Who knows, perhaps it was a mistake. Perhaps it was intentional. The Overwatch community isn’t all that excited about this sequel. Since, you know, the only thing Overwatch 2 has that the first one doesn’t is PvE. And you have to pay a full triple-A price for it. Not the greatest of deals. For now, all we can do is wait for an official statement for Blizzard to see if this was a mistake. Or maybe Overwatch 2 really is launching in 2020.
