Over 15 Million Players Fought Galactus In Fortnite
Fortnite broke another record as over 15 million players participated in an in-game event to defeat Galactus, a world-eating Marvel villain.
The Fortnite x Marvel collaboration has lasted for quite a while now. Is it a surprise then that at the end of Season 4 Galactus came to eat the whole planet? No, of course not, but the response of the players was insane. Imagine 15 million players driving their busses into the mouth of Galactus, then watching him light up with green energy before semi-exploding and running away through a dimensional rift. It was quite a visual treat, with some exciting space shooter elements.
We defeated him! A record 15.3 million concurrent players joined forces in our biggest event ever to fight back Galactus in today's in-game event, while more than 3.4 million cheered and watched on @YouTubeGaming and @Twitch! pic.twitter.com/IAcNpcPKEw

You can say whatever you want about Epic Games, but they know their stuff when it comes to Fortnite. Who else can create a massive in-game event that has nothing to do with the standard gameplay? And then have a record-breaking number of players participate in that event?
The end of Season 4 in Fortnite featured Galactus, Iron-Man, Thor, Wolverine, and many others. Yet, this is not the end of their crazy in-game events. In Season 5 you need to recruit hunters from other Realities. One of them is the Mandalorian. Not surprising considering they added a Stormtrooper skin to the game and showed a scene from Rise of Skywalker before the movie released.
