No Sequel or Spin-Off Planned for Rocket League
There’s no denying that Rocket League has proven to be a huge success. Across all platforms, the soccer-car hybrid has attracted over 33 million players and continues to grow going forward.
Despite its success, Psyonix has no intention of releasing a sequel to the smash hit, or have any kind of other games planned to serve as a spin-off or otherwise. This might seem like a disappointment to some on the surface, but fear not, car-soccer fans. Psyonix plan to continue to focus on rewarding players who log in to the game and look at growing its already vast community.
Psyonix Vice President Jeremy Dunham stated: “Rocket League is a game that, as it expands, it is still the same game. It is not Rocket League Karts or Rocket League RPG. We don’t want to exploit the brand. We want to reward the players, that’s how we look at it.”
So there may be no RL Karts or RPG, but nevertheless, you can get your hands on Rocket League, which is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. A Nintendo Switch version of the game is also on its way, further expanding the indie game’s brand across the gaming industry.
