Nintendo Switch Online Will Get More Detailed Before Launch
The Nintendo Switch has been killing it in virtually every part of its business. The hardware is solid, the software is constant and entertaining, and the portability is as usable as promised. But, when it comes to the online portion of things, that’s where it gets a bit murky. On one hand, gamers have been enjoying free internet for their games and eshop usage since launch. But in September, Nintendo Switch Online will go live, and with it comes Nintendo’s first dedicated online service.
This has people nervous, because Nintendo has honestly been behind the times when it comes to how to use the internet in a way that’s friendly to users. Including having to use Friend Codes to hook up with people in certain games. What’s more, despite it coming out in September, we still don’t know all the details about Nintendo Switch Online, and that’s concerning.
However, that will change soon apparently. Nintendo held a Q&A today, and during it, former Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima noted that before the launch of the service, there will be more details given about Nintendo Switch Online.
“We should be able to give you a little more information as we get closer to the official launch in September. Our aim is to provide consumers with variety of ways to play and the ability to use the system in a more convenient way. I will have to ask for your patience until we are ready to discuss any further details.”
More than likely, Nintendo will hold a special Nintendo Direct to discuss the Online service and how it’ll affect gamers in both large and small scale. This is important because two of the biggest Switch titles this year have big internet importance due to multiplayer, and if they mess it up, it will affect sales.
