If you’re looking for some of that sweet ice hockey violence, look no further. NHL 19 got a “Collision Physics” trailer recently which shows us how some hits will be much more painful than others.
Sports simulation video games have been really focusing on feeling and looking as realistic as they can get. There is only so much you can do in terms of gameplay development and for a game such as ice hockey, you want the violence to be as real as it can get. You see, in hockey, there is as much skill as there is player on player violence, so in NHL 19 the developers worked hard in order to bring us realistic-looking hits and collisions. A trailer was released a couple of days ago that showcases the collision physics for the game, and they are looking pretty impressive.
The new animations for the game look stellar as well, and from what we saw about NHL 19, it is going to be an amazing title. Naturally, you want your game to represent NHL today and everything that happens there, so the realism factor is key. You see, when a player is ready for a hit, it won’t be that painful or that spectacular to look at. But, when they don’t expect you to suddenly ram into them at high speeds, that’s when things start getting fun.
The hits in the trailer looked like they had weight and packed a lot of punch, and basically what we’re trying to say is that we can’t wait to hit a lot of people when the game officially launches.
