Next Game From Octopath Traveler Dev To Come Soon?
There have been a lot of games that have come out for the Nintendo Switch this year. But in regards to highly anticipated titles, one of the most desired ones was without a doubt Octopath Traveler. This was a game made by the team who did the Bravely Default titles on 3DS, and Square Enix made it exclusive to the Switch, thus showing their continued support for the system. Upon release, the game not only got favorable reviews, including some that praised it as an absolutely magnificent RPG, but it also sold very well. In the first 3 weeks of release, it sold over 1 million copies.
Due to this, fans are now eagerly waiting to see what the team at Acquire (the official name for the Square Enix team who made the game) are going to do next. They promised that if Octopath Traveler did well that they would be up for making more games either like it or something new entirely. But when will we see such a thing?
Well, during an interview with Nintendo Dream, two of the producers sat down and talked about the title, and because of that, we got this tease of what’s to come:
“With Bravely Default, Bravely Second and now, Octopath Traveler, we have been releasing approximately one game every three years or so. However, we are currently expanding our development team and we hope we can increase the pace of our releases moving forward! We’ll continue to make core RPGs specifically for fans of Square Enix RPGs all over the world. So, if you liked what you saw with Octopath Traveler, look forward to what we have in store for you in the future!”
So they’re growing their team to make games faster, that will please a lot of people. But exactly what they’re making is still up in the air. We’ll have to wait and see what comes to the Switch from them.
