Next Battlefield Game Gets New “Leaked” Details
The Battlefield series has been fighting for years to try and keep up with Call of Duty. And in some ways, it has, and in other ways, it hasn’t, such as most competitions go. However, with their most recent title, Battlefield 1, the series took a giant leap forward in many aspects. It went to an era that Call of Duty had never gone to, it changed a lot of things for the better, and kept the game relevant through memorable DLC. Now, everyone can’t wait for the next title, which is slated for later this year.
There’s been a lot of rumors and speculation as to what it’s going to be, including its name, “Battlefield V”, and its setting (WWII). Now though, VentureBeat is claiming to have some new info on the upcoming title.
First up, the game will feature a Co-Op mode (though it has not been stated as to whether split screen is coming with that or it’s simply an online feature), one that will put players through “randomly generated Conquest missions.” This will likely have a lot of people intrigued.
Moving onto the campaign mode, the site says that players can expect a style of story similar to what Battlefield 1 had. I.E. several short stories that weave into a grander narrative of sorts. This also ties into the “news” that the missions will take place all over the world. Which would make sense if the game is set in WWII, as battles took place all over Europe, in Africa, and in Pacific, so we could have missions in those regions.
Now, it needs to be restated that this is just speculation at present, neither EA or DICE have confirmed anything about this game so far. That being said, we will find out something before E3, as EA is bringing the title to their EA Play event for people to try out.
