In the early days of gaming, there was a string of titles that would allow you to manage your own park or business. These “tycoon” games may not have been the most thrilling titles action wise, but they did let you live out your dreams. Games like Roller Coaster Tycoon and Zoo Empire are just some of the games that have come out of that genre. But now, there’s a new twist on the formula, one that will have you trying to run a dinosaur park. Welcome to Parkasaurus.
So, what makes Parkasaurus so special? Well, it’s far more than just a dinosaur park management game. Although, that will be a major part of what you’re doing. After all, you will be given just a blank slate to start everything off, and you’ll have to work hard to bring it to life, fill it with cool attractions like the dinosaurs and then make sure your patrons are happy.
But…as Jurassic Park has shown us, not everything is as “easy” as it appears. For in the game, your dinosaurs can get agitated, and when that happens, bad things happen. In the case of Parkasaurus, your dinosaurs can break out of their cages, and in that moment, the gameplay shifts. For now, you’ll have to chase after your dinosaurs first-person shooter style and hit them with tranquilizer darts to ensure they go down before too much damage is dealt. Doesn’t that sound like fun?
Now, you might be wondering, “how do I get the dinosaurs for my park?” Answer? Time travel! It’s real here, and you’ll go through time to collect eggs for dinosaurs that you’ll put in your zoo.
And, as you can tell from the trailer, the game is meant to be cute, and this is just the pre-alpha footage. The game will come to Steam in 2018.
