New Total War: Three Kingdoms Trailer Focuses On Spies
The latest Total War: Three Kingdoms trailer shows us the power of subterfuge and spies, and what they can be used for.
It appears that utilzing backhanded and cutthroat strategies in Total War: Three Kingdoms is going to be a blast, as spies can be used in many different ways. Increase your relations with a faction, poison the food supplies of their army, or even gain access to some of their land. Everything appears to be carefully crafted so that spies aren’t overpowered, but they will be a force to fear.
The trailer that showcases the abilities of the spies focuses on Cao Cao, a leader that is exceptionally good at using manipulation, so spies are his forte.
Gaining knowledge of the enemy is extremely important in Total War: Three Kingdoms. But, you must also keep in mind that spies with a lot of power also have the option of turning on you. They can become a double agent, or they can even split from all factions and form their own. This is definitely an amazing feature that is going to surprise us and make each playthrough much more exciting.
So, how do you plant a spy? You don’t, you actually put them in a global recuirtment pool and wait for an enemy faction to pick them up. Once they’re in, you get a lot of options, which increase as you focus your playstyle through Government Reforms, which are tech trees in Total War: Three Kingdoms.
Now, players also need to undertand that their own character pool could contain a spy. That definitely puts a lot of emphasis into organisation managment and keeping a close eye on suspicious characters. Spies can do a lot of damage if left unchecked, which is something that you should prevent at all costs.
This seems like it’s going to be a terrific Total War game, so stay tuned for more news!
