New Fallout 76 Patch Increases Max Stash Storage, Improves Performance

Fallout 76 is an attempt by Bethesda to create an online-only Fallout survival title that managed to be everything that we thought it was going to be.

Usually, when a game like this gets incredible amounts of hate it’s totally justified. You were probably expecting a “but” now, but there isn’t one. Fallout 76 is something that no one asked from, basically, a cheap money grab that exploits the need for good Fallout games since Fallout 4 didn’t really impress us all that much. Lousy execution of past ideas, horrible bugs, deeply rooted problems in the game engine itself, and many other things make Fallout 76 a failure in all aspects. Shame, since even though we didn’t like the idea of it, we wanted to be positive about this project. Alas, it was everything we feared it was going to be.

But, that isn’t stopping Bethesda from trying to fix the game up as much as possible. Even though fixing and patching it won’t deal with the core gameplay issues, it’s nice to see that they care. Well, they probably don’t, and just want to fix the game as soon as possible in order to avoid further player backlash. So, this new patch, what is it fixing? For once, the framerates are uncapped on the PC, and the movement speed bug has been addressed for good.

Maximum stash storage has been increased to 600 pounds, and it will go up even more in the future. High-level monsters will give less XP, bosses will now give you 2-4 items depending on how hard the boss is, and automatic weapons got a damage increase of 20%. Other changes were made as well, but they aren’t all that important, and you can read about them here.
