EA’s 2018 financial report has potentially revealed some exciting news regarding the Battlefield franchise.
DICE has been hard at work on Star Wars Battlefront II as of late, though it doesn’t mean that the publishing company aren’t looking toward the future. Financial discussions usually reveal what future plans are in place for upcoming releases, and it looks like a new Battlefield game could be on the cards for 2018.
This was discussed by EA executive Blake Jorgensen, who spoke about the company’s earnings, and that a new Battlefield title will be released in fiscal 2019, which is the time period between April 2018 and March 2019.
Jorgensen stated: “The core of our fiscal 2019 is a full slate of sports titles and their associated live services, plus new live services from Star Wars Battlefront II. We will add the next Battlefield game, and move into the action genre with Anthem. We expect our subscriber base to continue to grow, and for our new mobile titles to benefit from players looking for deeper experiences with higher production values.”
So fans can expect a new Battlefield title sometime within that time frame, and there is bound to be more announced regarding the new IP entitled Anthem at some point too.
