NetherRealm Promises Big Mortal Kombat 11 News Next Week
Mortal Kombat is the very definition of a fan-favorite video game series. It burst onto the fighting game scene with style, flair, and bloody brutality. As the technology grew, so did what the team could do. And while it did suffer a LONG period of mediocre titles, the reformed NetherRealm Studios came together to make the series worth playing once more. And now, they’re gearing up for their most bold version of the series yet with Mortal Kombat 11, which was revealed last month at The Game Awards.
The game itself is scheduled for an April release, however, the game is also getting a “Community Reveal Event” next week, and fans are eagerly waiting for anything to tease what is coming. So much so that a fan asked NetherRealm on Twitter if we’d be getting character reveal videos. To which they replied:
“Let’s say next week on January 17th at 11am? We’ll show you some gameplay, a little story, and maybe give you some character reveals. How does that sound? Just make sure you tune in for The Reveal!”
So that re-confirms that there will be some major character reveals for Mortal Kombat 11 next week. Which is good, because so far, the only characters we know are in the game are Evil Raiden (after being corrupted in Mortal Kombat X), two different forms of Scorpion (the more recent version and one from Ultimate Mortal Kombat III), a new mysterious character who seems to be signifying time travel once again for the series, and finally, Shao Khan as a pre-order bonus character.
The reveal trailer for the game was a true testament to not only the graphics of our gaming age, but to the brutality that the Mortal Kombat series is known for. So just imagine what the full game will be like.
