NBA Live 19 Will Let Players Create Female Superstar
One of the challenges in sports games is making every year feel special or different. After all, if the game itself doesn’t evolve outside of some slight rules changes or player shifts, how will the video games evolve? Usually, the answer is that developers bring in new modes, bring back old legends, and make the game feel new in one way or another. But with NBA Live 19, they’re continuing to evolve by putting more of a focus on the WNBA brand.
Last year, NBA Live 18 introduced the teams and players of the WNBA for the first time in any video game ever, which was a huge deal for both the league and for its players. And now, with NBA Live 19, they’re taking it to the next level, as they’re allowing you to play as a female player in Career Mode. But in a fun twist, you’ll also be able to use your newly created female character in all other modes in the game, including The One mode.
As if that wasn’t enough, NBA Live 19 will also let you have your female player play with the male stars of the NBA in The One mode. So there is no segregation here, which is a pretty cool feature.
For all the female gamers out there, you can use the companion app on Android and iOS to actually scan your face and have your female character resemble you. Then, you can build up her skills based on the moves and shots of the legendary players of the WNBA.
This is a huge move for the NBA Live series, as they’re continuing to bring new and important changes to their basketball title. And if we’re lucky, they’re going to continue doing this for future interations.
NBA Live 19 arrives on Xbox One and PS4 on September 7th.
