Team 17 and Mouldy Toof have unveiled a new multiplayer trailer for the upcoming sequel The Escapists 2. Serving as a follow up to the award-winning The Escapists by international games label Team 17, with the original game recently celebrating the milestone of hitting over four million downloads.
In this new trailer, we see the new home for interstellar inmates in the U.S.S Anomaly. Given the issue on Earth of overcrowded prisons, the U.S.S Anomaly provides a solution as you are forced to attempt to escape the floating fortress guarding heavily by robotic guards and dogs. Make your escape using jet packs, shuttles and avoid the A.I Warden. Also, in what will be a first for the series, drop in/drop out play will be available for up to four players in online and local play.
Getting out is no picnic, however. At first, you’ll have to stick to a strict prison routine if you are to remain undetected and fly below the guards’ radar. Craft what items and tools you can without being caught out in cell shakedowns, get yourself a job and purchase vital supplies in return for a few favours.
The Escapists 2 will launch on the August 22nd for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, and will be followed up by a release on Nintendo Switch.
