Monster Hunter: World Receiving Devil May Cry DLC
Boy, Capcom loves doing crossovers within its own properties. Sometimes, you have to wonder if they just can’t help themselves. But hey, when you have the chance to infuse some clever content into an already popular title, why not do it, right? Well, Monster Hunter: World has already been a success for Capcom, shipping well over 5 million units since its launch in late January. And now, they’ve revealed another crossover, this time with their fan-favorite franchise Devil May Cry.
As you can see in the reveal trailer, players will get to dress up as Dante, the protagonist from the series, and get to wield his legendary weapons. Mainly his legendary swords that have been known to slice through both monsters and dimensions…long story. Here’s the official synopsis for the DLC:
“Dante, the Son of Sparda, lends his classic coat and two of his favorite swords to the bravest hunters of the New World! Later this year, you’ll get to fight hellish foes in Monster Hunter: World to earn this devious combination of the Force Edge and Alastor, from the Devil May Cry series.”
Capcom went all out to show off this new DLC, even crafting the trailer in the style of Devil May Cry. And with new monsters to defeat, and dine on, and new outfits and weapons to wield, we think Monster Hunter: World players will find themselves with plenty to do when the DLC arrives later this year.
Now, as for Devil May Cry, the franchise has been on a bit of a hiatus. There were rumors of a new game being revealed last year, but that didn’t happen. Fans are asking for it though, and with this Monster Hunter DLC, fans are no doubt wondering if this is a teaser for things to come.
We could find out at E3 2018, but as in all things, it’s not a guarantee.
