Minecraft’s Better Together Update Coming To Switch Next Month
Playing Minecraft is pretty fun, but you know what would be even more fun? Playing together with people on other platforms! Yes, this means that the cross-platform update called “Better Together” is finally coming to the Switch. For Minecraft players, this isn’t anything new, as this update actually came to the PC, iOS, Xbox One, and Android sometime last year, so it’s quite surprising why it took that long to bring it to the Switch. Basically, this update lets all the platforms play together, so Switch users can now join in on the fun with other platforms.
You see, before the Better Together update, each of the Minecraft versions on different platforms were separate, each designed just for that platform. Now, they are all the same, in a way. So if you have a friend that has a PC, a sister that has an Xbox One, and a cousin that has a Switch, you can all play and enjoy Minecraft together. This update doesn’t include the PlayStation 4, which is strange, but at least this version finally got access to multiplayer servers, Realms, the Marketplace store, and so on.
Just so you know, this new version of Minecraft is not the same as the regular Nintendo Switch Edition, but if you own this one, you will the new one for free, as expected.
