There has been some rather unwelcome news for Minecraft fans revealed, with the upcoming Better Together update being delayed until the Autumn. Better Together will bring a catalog of additions, including cross-platform play and improved visuals.
The update was due out this Summer, though this appears to have changed after an FAQ revelation stated that it still isn’t ready, stating “once it’s ready and we’ve satisfactorily evicted bugs from the premises.” This will come as disappointing news for fans, though it is probably a blessing in disguise that the developers are taking their time to make sure that the update is ready to go free of any bugs or issues.
The Better Together update will be the biggest one to date for the massively popular franchise, and will be finally bringing cross-platform play between Xbox One, PC, iOS and Android, which is a big step to take in the current state of the gaming industry. Not only will it bring a number of platforms together, but it will also bring a number of improvements to the game’s visuals, plus bringing a heavy set of community servers. In addition, enhanced crafting UI, banners, parrots, fireworks and more will be introduced into the game.
