Metro Exodus Will Be Expanding Out of The Tunnels

The highly anticipated Metro Exodus is set for release later this year, and looks to expand on past games. In the previous titles, 2033 and Last Light, the majority of the games took place in underground tunnels, though this time it looks like the series will be branching out into more expansive areas.

Though developer 4A has reiterated that it won’t be an open-world game in a traditional sense, there will be bigger areas and levels for you to explore in and around the linear story missions. So much so, that there is even support being introduced for vehicles.

Once you are out in the open, there will be new factions who’s outlook on you will depend on your actions during your time in the game, which will work in a more traditional sense of meeting fire with fire and the other expected side of the coin.

Once you have completed each adventure, you will return to the moving hub world that is present throughout Exodus known as the Aurora, which will have its passengers so to speak and the train itself changing as the story progresses.

Metro Exodus is set for release on PC, Xbox One and PS4 later this year.
