Metal Gear Survive Getting Another Beta Before Launch
It’s important for a game to know it’s ready for launch before the launch comes. While before, developers would rigorously test the game themselves to ensure quality, many games nowadays do public and private beta tests to work out some of the bugs and glitches they might have missed. This goes especially for games that feature heavy multiplayer. Metal Gear Survive had a beta last month, but Konami feels another one is necessary, but in a good twist, this time, all platforms will be involved.
The previous beta only allows the Xbox One and PS4 players to join, but this new beta will allow PC players to join in as well. The beta will start on the 16th, and end on the 18th, which is only two days before Metal Gear Survive arrives in full. No doubt Konami wants to ensure that the internet connection and multiplayer aspects of the game work across all platforms.
As for what will be in the beta, it will closely resemble the previous beta’s content. There will be three missions to do in the singleplayer, you’ll be able to team up with three other players via co-op, and Konami will bring in daily missions for you to complete.
In regards to Metal Gear Survive itself, the game is a spinoff of the main series, based on a part of the storyline from Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. Here, a group of soldiers who served Big Boss are taken to another dimension via a wormhole. This dimension is filled with monsters that you need to defend yourself from. You’ll have to scavenge for supplies and weapons to build up your base of operations as you try to survive the onslaught of threats.
The game has not been well-received by fans or critics since its announcement, but we’ll have to see what they think when the game launches in full on the 20th.
