Capcom has announced the release of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, marking the return of the popular cross-franchise fighting series. This next game offers up a variety of challenges this time around, catering for both single player and multiplayer experiences. The best part of it is you get to choose from a vast roster of 30 characters from both the Marvel and the Capcom universes.
Fans can expect a “thrilling cinematic experience” which sees both universes coming together to destroy Ultron Sigma, the deadly combination of robo-villains Ultron and Sigma. Ultron Sigma’s goal is to infect all biological life in the newly merged world. If single player is what you’re looking for, then there is Mission, Training and Arcade modes to indulge in, combined with a cinematic story to go with it. As for online, there is both ranked and casual matches in what is described as a set of “robust online modes” complete with global leaderboards, online lobbies with spectator mode and more to enhance to online aspect of the game.
The standard edition of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is available physically and digitally on PS4 and Xbox One. There’s also a digital edition for PC players, and a Deluxe Edition including a 2017 character pass featuring six post-launch characters including Sigma, Venom, Black Widow, Winter Soldier, Monster Hunter and Black Panther.
