It seems like MapleStory 2 is a pretty successful sequel, as this cute MMORPG now has over 1 million active players.
While you had games like WoW that cater to the general MMORPG audience, you also had titles like MapleStory. MapleStory featured a 2D MMORPG world filled with cute characters and lots of things to do. Now, when the sequel was announced, a lot of people got excited. Then disappointed when they found out that MapleStory 2 wasn’t going to be 2D like its predecessor. To everyone’s surprise, MapleStory 2 turned out to be a fantastic free2play game. That’s why it shouldn’t surprise anyone that the game now has over 1 million players.
This is a cause to celebrate, and of course, the developers have some events for the players. First things first, there’s a week-long Double Dungeon Drop event that gives everyone two loot rolls when they complete a dungeon. Also, everyone that has reached the level cap gets a free Style Crate and 500 Red Merets just for logging into the game!
The emphasis is on the Double Dungeon Drop event, as not all players reached the level cap. But, if you are a loyal player that has been grinding since the game came out, you get Red Merets. Red Merets is a special form of currency that you normally can’t purchase. But, when you obtain it, you can use it to buy many spectacular outfits in the Red Meret Shop.
If you never played MapleStory 2, give it a try. It’s one of the better free2play MMOs out there that has a fair in-game shop and many things to do in-game.
