It seems like the people behind Papers, Please are full of wonderful ideas for their games. Their upcoming title is called the Return of the Obra Dinn, and it looks stunning.
So, what are you thinking about now that you’ve seen that picture up there? The graphics are absolutely insane, wouldn’t you agree? From the looks of it, the studio behind Papers, Please is quite adept at making extraordinary titles. This one seems like one of those gems that you see once in a few years. This is strictly speaking about the graphics, which have this indescribable look that has blown us away.
But, the gameplay won’t disappoint you either, don’t worry. You see, in Return of the Obra Dinn, you play as an insurance adjuster. Your job is to go on a certain ship, the Obra Dinn, and find out what happened to the crew. Since they are all dead and all. Players have to figure out how everyone died so that the families of the crew members get any owed salaries. It isn’t as boring as it may seem at first.
You’re going to have these flashbacks which give you hints about the death of a person. Combine this with a lot of detective work, and you get a really unique game. As you can probably tell, we are quite excited to give this game a go. The sound design is also stellar, and we suggest you go give the announcement trailer a watch. The game is getting released this autumn, but no specific date was given.
