News surrounding Destiny 2 isn’t always positive, but fans might be happy to hear that Activision has confirmed that there will be a major expansion for the game released at the end of 2018. This news came during an Activision Blizzard investor call, though what the content drop features remains to be announced.
Bungie recently revealed the plans that it has for Destiny 2, after a series of bouts of backlash from fans. The next expansion is set to drop in may, though beyond Curse of Osiris, which has had its fair share of critics, there isn’t really much to go off of as of yet.
What many are being led to assume is that by major expansion, Destiny 2 will see something similar in fashion to The Taken King from the first title. This expansion introduced new enemy types, a new environment, new strikes and a new raid, plus a new subclass for each of the game’s classes.
Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg stated during the call:
The sentiment is already starting to shift. We have a great expansion coming in May, and a major expansion coming at the end of the year, and those events have always been opportunities to re-engage our communities and win back people who have churned out.
Destiny 2 is now available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
