We have recently seen the return of the Overwatch Summer Games, making a comeback after it’s debut last year. This seasonal event brought both old and new skins, as well as the return of the popular Lucioball, whilst adding competitive play for the mode.
Some may say that it was only a matter of time, but over on Reddit there has been an announcement that a Lucioball tournament will be taking place. Getting underway on August 21st, the tournament will consist of two brackets of two regions, EU and NA, each with 32 teams. The winners from each region will then face off in a best of three final match on August 26th.
If you are interested in signing up for the tournament, then you can find the North American signups here, and the European signups here.
Hopefully this will get a good response, and could eventually become a more permanent fixture in the game, in terms of adding Lucioball fully. If not, then at least if there is plenty of participation in the tournament, they could possibly branch it off into more regions around the world, and get as many players involved as possible, and make it an annual competition to take place each Summer.
