Square Enix has announced today the “Your Friend, Me” campaign to support mental health ahead of the release of Life is Strange: Before The Storm.
This campaign aims to celebrate the strength and importance of friendship, whilst also raising money for the nonprofit organization known as The Jed Foundation, which aims to protect the emotional health of teens and young adults, as well as helping prevent suicide.
If you would like to be a part of such a worthy cause to help support mental health with JED, then you are encouraged to create a short video message to post that describes what a true friend means and how one has impacted your life. At the end of the video, fans will be signing off in a way that it looks like a letter to their respective friend, saying “Your friend,” followed by the friend’s name.
Every video shared including the hashtags #LifeisStrange and #YourFriendMe will see Square Enix donating $5 for each, up to $25,000 to JED. CEO/Executive Director of JED, John MacPhee, said: “We are grateful to Square Enix for helping to raise awareness for mental health and JED’s work. We all encounter life’s challenges and support from friends can help us get through those difficult times.”
