Legendary Pokemon Coming to Pokemon GO
To commemorate the first anniversary of Pokemon GO, Niantic and The Pokemon Company International will be releasing Legendary Pokemon into the real world. A new trailer has been released to accompany this announcement, which you can see below. Once they have been released into the wild, trainers will be tasked with searching for Legendary Eggs at certain Gym locations. Players can also team up with fellow trainers for a traditional Raid battle to defeat the legendary and attempt to catch it.
The Pokemon GO Fest will take place in Chicago at Grant Park on July 22nd, which is where the first legendary battles will take place. Players worldwide will unite to catch Pokemon during the Pokemon GO Fest Challenge Windows, which will unlock in-game bonuses and much more. If trainers are successful in Chicago, then the Pokemon will begin to appear in Raid Battles after the fest.
In the continued spirit of bringing trainers together, Niantic and co. have announced a variety of activities for players to participate in to celebrate the game’s first anniversary. For example, trainers in Europe will be able to attend various Pokemon GO Safari Zone events throughout August and September, in partnership with Unibail-Rodamco. Yokohama, Japan will also play host to a “unique Pokemon GO experience” at Pikachu Outbreak in August.
