Lead Hearthstone Mission Designer Leaves Blizzard
Dave “Fargo” Kosak, the lead Hearthstone mission designer leaves Blizzard after 12 years to pursue his passion in another company.
He was a co-founder and creative director at Gamespy. Then he decided to join one of gaming’s most gigantic companies, Blizzard. There he worked as a designer during World Of Warcraft: Cataclysm and gradually became a lead narrative designer before eventually ending up as the lead mission designer for Hearthstone. After Ben Brode left the company and there was no one to be the face of Hearthstone, Dave fulfilled that role. He wasn’t as charismatic or energetic as Brode, but he got the job done.
Now whoever, he pursues new goals. After 12 long years, Dave leaves his station to join Deviation Games. We don’t know what his role there is, but it is a leading one. It’s only natural considering the vast amount of experience the man has.
Big announcement time!
After 12 remarkable years and countless adventures, I am moving on from Blizzard Entertainment. The other week I bid a fond farewell to the orc, who is dutifully wearing his mask. I will very much miss all of my Blizzard colleagues. pic.twitter.com/FJmDxFKhqN— Dave “Fargo” Kosak (@DaveKosak) October 27, 2020
What are Deviation Games up to? No clue, as Dave says they’re working on something amazing. However, it’s also a secret. I wonder if it’s going to be another card game. That would be hilarious, wouldn’t it?
The Hearthstone designer leaves, but not before the latest expansion releases with a brand new game mode. So it’s not all bad for Blizzard. Any of you Hearthstone players that still need more cards can get yourself a card pack on HRK Game right now!
