Kingdom Hearts III Producer Talks Gameplay
We are officially 1 week away from E3 2018, and all eyes will be not only on the event, but the three major publishers as they announce and reveal what they have going for their respective systems. While Microsoft and Nintendo are playing things close to the vest, Sony has already noted that they’ll be bringing their four big titles of this year to the show, one of which is Kingdom Hearts III. The long-awaited game doesn’t have a release date yet, but E3 could change that.
In an interview with Famitsu, producer Tai Yasue talked about how the maps are much different from previous games:
“Each world adopts new features. In OLYMPUS, which you can play a demo of, you can dive from the sky and climb walls. OLYMPUS in particular has a sense of scale to it. Also, KHIII includes the evolved forms of gameplay from past titles in the series. For example, the multi-storey maps from KH3D are even more powered up in KHIII – not only can you kick from wall to wall, you can now also run straight up walls. We have adopted all sorts of elements that allow you to really adventure, and the maps are vertically expansive.”
Furthermore, he noted how the gameplay has evolved greatly, including new powers for Sora and new gameplay abilities.
“There’s a very exciting Attraction Flow in OLYMPUS. We would love for you to play it very thoroughly. In the Toy Story TOY BOX World, as I said before, you can control robots – and there are several types of robot. Also, in TOY BOX, investigating is crucial, so make sure to enjoy all the toys and features. Personally, I hope you try hitting the gas tank and watching Sora and the others’ reactions.”
It’s clear that Kingdom Hearts III has a lot to offer to both long-time fans and new ones. And since there will be a demo at E3, many people will get the chance to try it out.
