Kingdom Hearts III Gets Release Date And New Trailer
Kingdom Hearts III is a title that has been in the works for basically 13 years, and as such, fans have become skeptical when news about its release date arises. After all, this is a game that’s gone through many revisions over 13 years. Yet, this year with E3 2018, Square Enix seemed to be stating that it would indeed be revealing the release date for the title, and a new trailer has come out that does indeed do that. Kingdom Hearts III will release on January 29th, 2019.
That’s right, despite earlier reports and trailers stating that it would come in 2018, it will not, it will arrive for PS4 and Xbox One in 2019. Though, by only a month, so it’s not too much longer of a wait after the year ends.
Naturally, the other big news is that a new trailer has come out, one that reveals Frozen is going to be a part of the Kingdom Hearts universe, complete with Elsa, Anna, Olaf, and the rest of the cast.
What’s more, the storyline of it seems to be able saving Elsa from becoming part of Organization 13’s plan to take over the universe. Other, surprises include a few glimpses into gameplay aspects of the Frozen world, including Sora wielding snow and ice in ways he hasn’t done before via the Keyblade transformation mechanic. We also got a look at one of the new elemental summons, this time, it’s Simba who gets called forth, and he’s a lion of pure fire.
Finally, a big surprise emerged at the end of the trailer when Aqua from Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep returned to talk with Mickey, noting, “You’re too late.” What does she mean?
E3 2018 is now in full swing, and Square Enix will have their press conference today, so it’s possible that the game will be shown off at their presentation.
