Kingdom Hearts is arguably one of the greatest collaborations in video game history. For the series brings the beloved characters and worlds of Disney and mixes it with the action and story style of Final Fantasy games. It’s a very odd mix, and yet, it’s a very enduring franchise with a very passionate fanbase. As such, it’s only fair to let them know what worlds they can expect from the game, right? Well, Kingdom Hearts 3 may have a very familiar world coming to it if a leak is to be believed.
Several in-game pictures were leaked onto Imgur, what’s interesting about these is that they’re in a debug mode of sorts, thus showing a developmental side of things, which may or may not add validity to the pic. Anyway, the pics clearly show a beloved Pixar world in the game, and no, not Toy Story, we already knew about that. Rather…it’s Monsters Inc.
If you look to the right, you’ll see Sully and Mike Wazowski from Monsters Inc. But also, that little girl is Boo, who is a key human child from the plot of the film. It also should be noted that Sora (the main character in the middle of the shot) is also there, and transformed (via the power of the keyblade) to be more like a being from the world.
Now, as we noted above, we know that Pixar films will be represented in Kingdom Hearts 3, as a previous trailer showed their arrival into the realm of Toy Story. But no other Pixar worlds (at the time of this posting) had been revealed. So, needless to say, if this is true, this is a big deal.
The question now is, if this is true, will this be the last Pixar world in the game? Fans were honestly hoping that The Incredibles would make an appearance, they still could, we just don’t know.
